  • Way of the Peaceful Warrior?

Has anyone read Dan Millman's Peaceful Warrior books? I read the original classic (that was a flop movie last year) several years ago and Dan was kind enough to send me a copy of his most recent book, "Wisdom of the Peaceful Warrior," to review on my blogzine.

I dismissed the book as rather simplistic the first few pages, but later found it quite insightful. Now, my game is mostly involved in solo endurance sports, so I tend to read things through that lens. However, I also work for a living and am always on the prowl for some insights into how I can better "manage" my life and workflow.

While this book doesn't necessarily work at the 10,000-20,000' level, it may be worth a read if you're examining your life from those higher altitudes. As someone who tries to juggle way too many things at one time, it's given me some gems to reflect upon and has forced me to think about just how much crap I have going on that I really shouldn't be wasting my time on.

I really liked the book and movie although can't remember specifically the lessons they taught. A similar book I read recently is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

I've heard a lot of good things about "The Alchemist" but have not made the effort to pick up a copy yet. Guess I'll have to add that to my list.
