The recording of yesterday's Trust Challenge Part Two: Get Current webinar is now available. This was the second webinar in a series of three, that explore ways you can develop even greater trust in your GTD system. It was a lively discussion, with plenty of participation from the GTD Connect members who attended.

Meg and Julie did a wonderful job unpacking the Get Current steps in detail. Some of the notable takeaways for members included:
  • how Waiting For and an Agenda items relate for people you interact with frequently
  • how previewing upcoming calendar helps to balance three-fold nature of work (avoid over-driving your headlights)
  • how doing Project and larger outcome review as a separate session can be helpful
  • how to use a Projects Delegated list

I need to review my very lengthy next action lists and ensure I am committed to everything there - I still have a real problem in that I'm repelled by my lists. During the webinar I realized they are filled with ideas-turned-to-actions, most of which aren't related to my current projects. So many ideas, and so little bandwidth right now... I need to move many to 'On hold' (and eventually to Someday/Maybe :))

Finally, I've removed the arbitrary due dates I was using to ensure I didn't forget important NAs. Now it is easier to see when things are actually due since my lists aren't constantly shouting at me about missed deadlines. I'm experimenting with 'Now' (today) and 'Soon' (next couple of days) lists, which I review daily, and promote items from my other NA list as I check things off. So far, it is working well to keep me more engaged with my system.

Thank you for the inspiration!
