One of the signs that my life has gotten crazy-busy is that I lower my standards about how to use the calendar. It can easily slide into becoming a short-term substitute for fully reviewing lists, and getting above the trees to view the forest. This was recording was a helpful and timely reminder.

I have found that trying the by-the-book approach to using the calendar is an effective way to show which parts of the system are showing strain. Customizing is fine, of course. And returning to the original structure occasionally can be quite revealing.
