In a new Up Close recording, David reviews the busy last quarter of 2014, and looks ahead at 2015. He covers topics ranging from cultural history to purging email folders to reframing GTD for a growing global audience.

You'll hear David mention a Japanese figurine called a maneki-neko, which brings good luck, happiness, and abundance.

In this photo, you can see the David Allen Company maneki-neko in the lower-left corner, facing the front door of our headquarters building. Katie is the dog in the photo, waiting for a meeting to begin.

Can you see the photo now? It's showing for me in a couple of browsers, but alas, not all on Windows and Mac.

We have several of those little cats, from when my brother in law used to fly to Tokyo regularly. I'm familiar with the legend, but didn't know what they were called until now. I even have one on my desk here at the office. It looks past me at the door, keeping an eye on things over my shoulder ;)
