Combining knowledge management and task management

Things and OmniFocus, and probably other apps, allow clickable links between most objects: areas (folders), projects, actions, built-in views, filtered views. They do not have the syntactic sugar that Obsidian has, which makes them more difficult to use. Furthermore, one can link to objects outside the apps; Bear is a popular choice. I’ve used this feature myself. I’ve seen many people write about the use of links, with some constructing very elaborate workflows. On the whole, I think most people do better by maintaining some degree of separation between reference and actionable material, as David Allen suggests. It may turn out that AI eventually sweeps all of these issues away, but not so far.

Thank you for introducing these other software's feature! I also think that artificial intelligence might be able to solve these problems in the future. Haha

Very short hints, we have major drought and basic farmwork has gone from 1-2 hours a day to 4-6, and this is normally our not very busy season. You can set up so that you can apply different sets of standard metadata or links automatically when you create notes. I have one template for notes created via voice on my phone that then end up in Obsidian already pretty much formatted correctly. It the customization that is what makes Onbsidian so much bette.r I can do things however I think and as my thinking changes or if a speific project needs a different structure I can set it up that way.

getting things set intially takes a lot of trial and error. What do I care about, how do I want to see it, how wil I edit it or delete it or incorporate pre-existing data into new data. But the end reault is very simple to work in.
