All input items through objectified tools for Capturing/Inboxes are in fact Maybe/Someday items and remain so until Clarified/Processed and can continue to remain so after Clarifying/Processing ?

Yes, in a sense. I think I remember hearing David Allen say that everything on all your lists is a Someday/Maybe item in the sense that you aren't doing it right now and you might never do some of them if you renegotiate your commitments.

In another sense, I think that the distinctions between the kinds of lists that we make are useful.

We capture STUFF. Not clarified STUFF represents items that can require no action, an action as soon as possible, an action on a given day/time, or turn out to be a project or Someday/Maybe. Someday/Maybe contains only Someday/Maybe – things clarified to be not actionable as soon as possible or in a given timeframe.

Whether or not you believe it's a Someday/Maybe doesn't really matter - you'll never know until you've clarified!

If I have an idea which I can’t seem to clarify to the point where it‘s actionable, I may put it on a someday/maybe list. This mostly happens with scientific research, so maybe it’s not a typical case.

You bring up a valid point that "STUFF" agreeably can be readily classified as Pre-Reasoned items while Someday/Maybe are in fact Post-Reasoned [perhaps one could say at least partially] items without any Volitional commitment
