An acknowledge option for sticky threads

Some other forums have an "acknowledge" button for their sticky threads. This is perfect.

Threads stays "sticky" on top (just as they should) even if countless normal threads are started or modified thereafter, which guarantees that new members will see the sticky threads easily. But for a user who has already read the thread there is an "acknowledge" option which makes the thread lose its stickiness for that user and behave like a normal thread.

This saves screen space and makes it easier to spot those threads that have been active since your last visit.

Worth considering?

I'd like to bump this thread, and I also have a new possible solution.

I always disliked the fact that the same old sticky threads always block almost the whole screen (and I have a full HD screen!), so now that you are revamping the whole website it would seem to be a golden opportunity to introduce a button/link etc whereby I can make each of these threads "not sticky for me anymore".

Or - if the current forum platform does not allow that kind of thing - could you then please perhaps simply introduce a third small forum for "Important (sticky)" threads, and move them all there? The blue marker will tell us whenever there something new there, and you could place this forum of sticky threads first in the list (above the GTD and Gear forums) to make it very visible to new members.

How about that?
