Some other forums have an "acknowledge" button for their sticky threads. This is perfect.
Threads stays "sticky" on top (just as they should) even if countless normal threads are started or modified thereafter, which guarantees that new members will see the sticky threads easily. But for a user who has already read the thread there is an "acknowledge" option which makes the thread lose its stickiness for that user and behave like a normal thread.
This saves screen space and makes it easier to spot those threads that have been active since your last visit.
Worth considering?
