Can Outlook emulate this Gmail screen?

Gmail has a great screen for clarifying email. When you open the first email:
  1. You see only that email. (i.e. no message list)
  2. When you press 'archive' you advance to the next email.
I would love to have something similar in Outlook.

Here are the closest two options that I can see, and neither of them do precisely what I want.
  • The reading pane auto-advances after archiving, but it has the distraction of the message list.
  • Opening an email via double click gives me a distraction-free window, but archiving returns me to the message list.
It sounds like a small thing but I have such a nicer experience clarifying in Gmail than in Outlook.
