I'm glad I sent the chimps to the David Allen seminar; they learned a lot, despite tussling the Guru's hair and tossing around his glasses. The resulting GTD expertise was certainly put to good use, for tonight they've prepared a final release of the new D*I*Y Planner 2 Hipster PDA Edition, bulging with 34 templates ready to grace the index cards of your Hipster PDA, including two shiny new handy reference cards (GTD and *gasp* Covey) designed as only an Illustrator-wielding monkey can.

The emphasis --as usual-- is on GTD, but there's enough variety to stimulate all except the most die-hard tweakers. This edition can be used either standalone or in conjunction with the full-meal deal "classic" version at:

Nope, not yet. (It's far easier to make smaller versions of templates than larger versions.) The next two projects are an Education pack and a Creativity pack, both initially for the regular 5.5"x8.5" 'Planner, and then I'm steamrolling on to D*I*Y Planner 3, probably sometime this fall. Some folks like to scale the "classic" or A5 versions of the 'Planner to letter-size, but it's not something I tend to recommend.

Good card stock?

These templates are great, and look convenient enough to get me to switch completely to a card system from FC classic style.

Does anyone know of a quality card stock that works well with fountain pens? Most I've found either is too absorbent and draws the ink into blotches, or is too coated and leaves the ink in a puddle on the surface that smears if I move the card. Maybe ink-jet card stock would work, but I've been working with single cards so far.
 
I wouldn't use a fountain pen...

I actually went to Staples and found card stock there (I forget exactly what weight it was). Originally looked for Avery pre-perf'd index cards, but decided to make my own. Bought about 90-110 pound card stock.

I bought a bunch 'o' Staedtler (sp?) pens, thinking they'd be great because they were 0.3mm, and, well, they were *awful*. Ended up buying Pilot G-2 (make sure you get the .5mm size). Somehow, they write on that card stock, and =voila=...no smearin'.

IMHO, the co$tlie$t answer isn't always the be$t. :-D

Levenger (home of the pocket briefcase ) is supposed to have higher quality index cards (never tried them )

Excellent planner templates! Thank you for sharing them. I printed out a few and gave them a test drive and they will definitely be helpful. Keep up the good work, it's very much appreciated.
