David Allen Audio Products:What's your pick?

Hi,

I have read GTD, and now I have read Making It All Work. But there is something magical about hearing somebody explain it using audio. I guess I am open to anything, but I would also like to hear what goes on in a live David Allen seminar.

1)What audio products would you recommend?

2)Which audio products explained GTD well, and even went beyond?

Getting Things Done Fast is definitely my favourite! The Getting Things Done (original book) audio was a bit slow paced and I hardly ever revisit it, but GTDFast seems very conversational and engaging to me.

GTD Fast was a recording of the old 2-day seminar on 8 CD's, and I found it very helpful for implementation and motivation. I believe the GTDLive 10-CD set is essentially a newer version of the 2-day seminar. It's not inexpensive, but likely to be worth it. I listened to GTD Fast many times before it "took".

As an alternative, you might consider a trial subscription to GTD Connect. There is a ton of audio and video material available for download, and a lot of help on implementation.

Love GTD Fast. Love Connect. But to add to "money well spent", consider the set on Weekly Reviews.

I would echo Barb's comment here. The set on weekly reviews is great.

GTD Fast does seem to "feel" like a what I live seminar would be like - I've never been, so I can't be sure :)

I've heard that people can find GTD Fast on ebay and bitorrent from time to time.

I tend to get very philosophical about my GTD approach, and I become a little less obsessed with the nitty gritty details of my implementation every passing day. For that reason, my choice is Ready for Anything, which IMHO should absolutely be listened to rather than read becasue it's so much easier to catch the little nuggets to remember that way. "You have to think about your stuff more than you currently are, but less than you're worried you have to." It's nice for the huge picture, which for me is what drives my implementation.
 
GTD Fast is a wonderful audio product and you should do whatever you can to find a copy. I had GTD (the book) for a year and dabbled with it but it did not take. GTD Fast changed all that as it is a wonderful introduction to both the system and David Allen.

GTD Live is an oddly produced product (it seems to be recorded before non-paying students) that in my mind does neither justice.
 
I Like Them Both

I have both GTD Fast and GTD Live and regularly listen to both--they are very similar in content (virtually identical in many places), and each has sections where certain elements of GTD are explained slightly better than they are in the other. By no means do I see them being as different as Richard does. More like two recordings of the same symphony, with slight differences in nuance and shadings.
