Documents To Go Query

Got Documents To Go from Dataviz thanks to the advice of some good folks here – what a fabulous system it is!

But here’s my query: I downloaded a couple of books in pdf format to my laptop, then transferred them to my Palm Zire using Docs To Go. But when I try to open them, I get the message:

“Your device has insufficient storage space available to view this file. Free some space and try again”.

Is this because the pdf is too large? Is there any way around this problem ... can I use PalmReader to open the books for example? I have a 500mb expansion card installed – can I use this in some way to solve the problem?

Thanks all

Dave

I will make an educated guess that indeed you do not have sufficient memory. Note that the memory on your palm is to the ram in your computer as the expansion card is to your hard disk. You can have a huge hard disk, but be unable to run a program effectively because of too little ram. Your expansion card is for storage, while the memory on your palm holds programs (.prc) and certain data (.prb). The memory usage of a program is unique to that program, and the data it is using. You do not mention the size of your .pdf files or the available memory on your Zire (small, I think), but it is possible that another program that reads pdf files might handle them. I think adobe may still make available their own reader. Good Luck.
