Does GTD describe weekly goals?

I'm not sure how to formulate my question. Hopefully putting it on paper would help :)

I though that it would be nice to have weekly goals for projects. An ideal progress or milestone for any particular project till the end of the week where the project itself could last after that. Maybe that's not a good idea especially for sales projects as only the God knows where we'll be in a minute :)

I haven't heard of that kind of weekly outcomes in GTD world for now. What do you think about that? Is there any sence in doing that?

A weekly milestone for every project? Too much work. And: how many projects can you touch in one week? Do you usually work on all your projects during a week?

I set a weekly milestone for on project (MIP == Most Important Project) and start my workday with working at least one hour on the MIP. This prooved to be quite successful.

But doing this for several projects?

Covey lets you set a weekly goal for each 20k-item. He suggests a maximum of eight plus 4 maintenance (spiritual, mental, social-emotional, physical).

Tony Robbins' system works in similiar ways: one or more blocks of scheduled time for each 20k-item. Robbins suggest keeping a success journal where you write down your "magic moments" you had during the week. I used to do when I was younger, it motivates you into action.

The great thing about this: it turns your week into kind of a game. A game that speeds you up because the life balance it brings with it. I still remember my first Covey week. It was something sepcial, it gave me another feeling about my life.

But it is real? The nice thing about GTD is it's total honesty. Your projects are real things, not stuff you invented because of your system.

GTD's workflow is bottom-up, i.e. you gather all your minutiae, process it to come up with your "weekly" projects (organize). It is when you review it that you determine what you're going to do and when you're going to do it. At the end of all that, you have your weekly goals...but, they're not called that in GTD...it's called your weekly review. And, I think legitimately so...it's more than just breaking down your yearly, monthly goals to weekly ones.

Well, you can make your Projects list into a de facto weekly goals list. Just put only those Projects that you believe you can accomplish in the coming week onto your Projects list. Keep everything else in Someday/Maybe.

Works for me.
