Emails and Evernote: Do you need the Premium version?

I would assume a powerful feature of Evernote (from a GTD perspective) would be to send yourself your emails that require actions (something easy to do with Evernote). I tried to do this with my free version of Evernote (I have thus far only used the web app - not desktop or mobile) and it says I can only send 5 emails or I can choose to upgrade to the premium version. My question is that for those of you who frequently email your actionable emails to Evernote: Do you all use the premium version of the software?

My past three or four (or maybe six, can't remember) list apps have all had complimentary (free) incoming mail. I hardly ever use it, because I do not see a big point in it.

I use the premium version for lots of reason including the ability to forward emails which are related to projects, next actions, or are actions themselves. Evernote is also the core of my GTD system and virtual brain so I am happy to support them financially.

I too use the premium version of Evernote. I think it is a good investment.

I use the email feature daily. I have my Personal GTD system set up in Evernote so I can have it available on my Android phone. I wanted to support EverNote and had been looking at the Premium version. When they created the intermediate Evernote Plus, it was just what I was looking for, so I signed up.

The email-to-Evernote feature is available for both Evernote Plus and Evernote Premium subscribers (Plus is less expensive than Premium and has fewer features). Is Evernote worth it? It depends on how useful it is to you. If you're on the fence, try it for a month or two (they offer monthly for subscriptions and you can cancel at any time).

I've been quite delighted with being an Evernote Premium subscriber for several years now. Well worth the cost. At the very least, you'll want the Plus version so that you get offline access to notes on your mobile device.

The scan business card feature is quite handy as well.

Depending on the email platform, you might be able to get away with the free version. If you use Gmail/Google Apps, the Web Clipper works very, very well. You can also automate things by using products like IFTTT - for example, sending all starred email to Evernote. Depending on your needs and financial situation, you can probably make it work. But, as someone who pays for Premium, Evernote is one of those apps I don't blink when signing up to pay the $5/mo (and it's only $2/mo for Plus).

I still use the free version, and yes, you do need to be premium in order to email things to yourself. This is a recent change (as of a few months ago). That said, there seems to be one work-around. I use gmail for my personal email. IFTTT.com is a website that creates little pieces of automation between common web tools, websites, your phones, etc. IFTTT has a tool that allows me to add an email to my Evernote default list whenever I star it in gmail. This still seems to be workings. If you're not familiar with IFTTT (If This Then That), it is really quite simple.
