I've been looking enviously at that London seminar and am tempted - are these going to be a regular event do you think? Also, what about the 'down under' side of the pond? Do you think the seminar would ever travel as far as Australia?

This is the first one in ?10? years-plus of David's public seminars. I can not say with certainty that this will be a regular event...kind of depends on how many people go!

David would travel pretty much anywhere (at least that's what I've heard) as long as someone is there to put on the seminar. If you know of someone who's looking to sponsor the GTD seminar, let our office know!

Hi Randy,

Well, I'm probably not on the "docket" to attend this one... :)

OK, I may be going nuts here (wouldn't be the first time) but the link to the roadmap doesn't show a London date in 2006?

Also, what would the cost be - hope this isn't like the tech industry where $ to £ converts at 1:1 ...

Thanks

Hi TJ

no I can't see any London dates either..I think maybe GTD has not really gone crazy here yet

a colleague wrote the piece in the gaurdian a month ago which may help...

in the meantime - could I ask you the favour of looking at my other thread, link above...as I'm getting obsessed by trying to track down the perfect tabbed folders and other GTD stuff in the UK

(btw just found that Viking do a "wide entry tray" that is equivalent to the side entry no lip tray that the book talks about)

mmm stationery

Muji do some lovely clear plastic side-on trays - they're beautiful but pricey (£10/tray). I bought two and feel they were well-worth the investment. I picked them up in my local Muji store here in Birmingham, but I think you can order through their catalogue also.

ooh Muji!

brilliant - thanks

and my girlfriend is happier too..fits in with the aesthetic round 'ere

and may I ask what manilla folders you use...tabbed or not?

I have a filing cabinet arriving - with compression plate so don't need hangers

but am having great difficulty finding folders that are tabbed always on the left rather than stepped

I run a pretty basic system: several straight-edged manilla folders arranged side-on on a bookshelf (IKEA), labelled down the visible edge with a cheap Dymo label printer. They're wedged between one of the shelf uprights and an empty decorative wooden box; and on the other side of the box is my tickler file of 43 identical folders labelled in the same way (and on the other side of that, keeping that end upright, is the lovely boxed edition of the recent English translation of Proust, which I must get around to finishing reading...).

I said before that the Muji trays are plastic - actually they're transparent acrylic, very nice to look at.

In Search of Lost Time...

Good choice. The title of the Proust's most famous book "In Search of Lost Time" corresponds perfectly with GTD.
