GTD is a system for appropriate system(s) engagement ?
Thus, as a big chunk of many lives, everyone [yikes] is perennially engaging with two types of internal extrinsic systems that they appropriately like to having internal control for preventing intrinsic distraction as much as possible for as much "Mind like Water" as possible* ?
Meanwhile, David Allen, on more than one occasion, generously ask the GTD [possibly paraphrasing] question "what does best as possible look-like/mean" ?
Thus far, on this end, that question continues to resurface and here is what GTD seems to appropriately offer as 'best standards' for at least some distraction reduction in regards to two 'internal extrinsic systems' one might be engaging with on a daily basis for GTD compounding effect(s) / satisfaction(s) ?
Internal extrinsic systems seem to be for the most part either solo or admixtures like a GTD system; the @Contexts are 'durable' while the Next Action(s) items therein are 'perishable' :
1. Durable systems . . . which are their best when 'Clean-&-Empty' ?
2. Perishable systems . . . which are their best when 'Fresh-&-Full' ?
While only passing on might be already the obvious to many/most, the real hope is to be GTD good for others in making Open Loop(s) easier to identify and readily know then when they seem to be Closed Loop(s) . . . while a double-check is most usually humbly worthy ?
As you see GTD fit. . . .
*Perhaps "as much . . . as possible" can be a good healthy way to keep self-sabotaging / counter-productive 'perfectionism' in check ?
