GTD Personal Outsourcing

Hello from a relative newbie to the GTD system!

I recently started up a personal outsourcing service which helps users save time by off loading some of their pending "tasks" (TimeSvr: www.timesvr.com). A little of a digital concierge if you may.

Needless to say, many of our users are GTD fans and have asked us to build tools around our service which incorporate its principles. I plan to head down to the store and grab the book this weekend, but was looking for some tips from you guys on how to best approach this? The more I read about it, the more I see that our goals are obviously aligned with the GTD.

Think of this as an invitation to open brainstorming! Any and all ideas are welcome.

Welcome to the forums.

I suggest you pay particularly close attention to the Waiting For concept. Your users will contact your agents as part of ongoing Projects, and will then add an item to a Waiting For list, noting that the user is waiting for your agent's response.

Other than that, I'm curious to see how you'll integrate GTD into your service. GTD is a personal productivity system for managing an individual's work; it doesn't extend much further than the individual. So it'll be interesting to see how that works.

Thanks Brent! Yea, thats been our goal: to basically build all these cool little tools which help extend the service and then let people figure out what works best for them (and what doesn't).

Hopefully we can get a few great ideas from the people who come here.

Hi Zaki,

Nice to see you here. I have been testing TimeSvr and was particulary pleased by the swift and quality service. It doesn’t surprise me at all GTD'ers are jusing the service and asking for enhancements. I agree with Brent on the Waiting for tip, but I think you guys already have this integrated in the UI.

If you want I can email some observations on how to include more GTD concepts.

Hi Fokke!

Wow, small world. Thanks for the offer. I would love to hear more from you.
