GTD Police Original Bill Kratz Version

Can any of you kind people point me in the direction of the original GTD Police Macro? Can't find a trace of it anywhere. I think the forum it was on was updated.

Or alternatively recommend a proven variation it. What is the best variation?

All the best

GTD Police Functionality also included in new custom project form...

FYI...you may have heard of Bollinger's custom project form that he has released for beta testing (but full release isn't ready yet) - there's a thread elsewhere on this forum.

The reason that I mention this is that the GTD Police functionality that prompts the user for a next-action when a project-related next action is completed is also included (very elegantly) in Bollinger's new form.

I was running GTD Police before beta testing the new form. If the new custom project form is coming soon, I'd be careful installing GTD Police first, as it was a pain to get the new form working with the GTD Police macro already installed.

Anyway, just a heads-up and something to consider. The GTD Police functionality is excellent and is an important part of ensuring that projects always have an associated next action (though of course the Weekly Review provides a backup for this).

Peter

Hey Peter, thanks for the heads up.

Is this the bollinger custom form thread you spoke about?

link

I remember seeing this topic thread and forgot all about it.

Does anyone know where the beta form is can be downloaded?

Yes - this is the form. Not sure when the final release is coming. I believe that the new version will be .NET-based. If the beta was any indication, the next version will be excellent.

Bollinger sent the original beta code out by direct email to a small group of beta testers. I submitted my beta test report to him several months ago - but not sure of current status. I think it would be up to him to post the beta code, but I could understand him being hesitant, as you can see from the original thread, there were a flurry of questions with install problems even from the original (and experienced) beta test crew.

In the long term, I think that enhanced project functionality needs to find its way right into the Netcentrics Outlook Add-In...

Peter
