yes, I definitely suffered with this. And then you get sick of looking at the tasks because you have to reset the due dates. Then I realised it was better just to delete the due dates, and put my preferred interim dates in my project support. Now I add tickler notes to review the project plan mid week if I think the weekly review isn't often enough to get the project moving along.
