How does GTD Live differ from GTD Fast

A few years ago I bought the now-out-of-print Getting Things Done Fast CD audio of a GTD seminar. It's very good. I now see that there is a GTD Live CD audio of a seminar. Could anyone tell me how these two differ? There is a significant price difference between the two.

I'd like to know also.

I've read the book and understood the principles. When I listened to the GTD Fast audio there was nothing new that I didn't already get from the book. If you boil it all down it still teaches the same thing as the book teaches -- nothing new.

IMO the price of the GTD Live cd is way too overpriced.

GDTLive is full two day unabridged seminar

GTDFast was an abridged seminar, GTDLive is of course more current material, unabridged and was taped in front of a live audience and also more interactive.

The new GTDLive two day seminar is one that David no longer presents as a public seminar. He now presents "The Roadmap" a one day with a focus on the big picture. I know there is overlap in the material between the old GTDFast and GTDLive as they are both based on his book. But David also dives deeper into the Natural Planning model, project planning as well as the implementation piece in the GTDLive seminar. Let me know if this helps!
 
I purchased GTD Fast just before they pulled it from the market and it is a wonderful product. It is a two day seminar taped before a live audience and brought the concepts discussed in the books to life. It taught me how to think about GTD. I've listened to it repeatedly and each time I learn something new.

I had hoped the GTD Live product would add additional content and nuance to the GTD Fast sessions - it does not.

GTD Live was apparently taped before a group of students and not a paying audience of professionals - therefore it has a lot less energy and focus than GTD Fast. It also suffers from an odd voiceover that tries to summarize and provide context to the content but instead is simply distracting.

My advice it to somehow track down the GTD Fast version - it is much, much better.

It pains me to say this as I really like most of the content the David Allen Co. provides but GTD Live is a dud and they should simply re-issue the original.
 
I have to regretfully agree with Richard.

I found much of GTDLive to be nearly verbatim from GTDFast.

Also, the narrator summaries were superfluous and distracting.

Just FYI- We don't own the rights to GTDFast, hence it will not be reissued. We have had some great feedback on GTDLive. I will pass your comments along. Thanks for taking the time to write.

Hi Liz,

Again, only my humble opinion, but my suggestion would be to record a full two day seminar (with professionals, in Silicon Valley, Boston, or some other high energy environment) or to negotiate rights from Nightingale-Conant.

I believe the content and energy of GTD Fast will always overshadow the GTD Live product which just doesn't compare.

GTD Fast and GTD Live are 2 different programs...

For a person that has GTD Fast maybe get GTD Live is not need it, the reason why, is that you probably has spend hours listening to GTD fast and in certain way you are use to the way this seminar is done.

If you are new to GTD, do not stop Collect $100 and get the program.

In my experience GTD Fast as well as GTD Live give tips, ideas and little things that you can find on other places, but all there.

As Liz has expressed GTD Fast is out of the market, and I think GTD Live will make a nice substitute.

In my experience GTD Live it is a different product than GTD Fast and can not be compared.

If I was new to GTD I will get it, I have been reading and playing with GTD since 2003... I considered a great tool for my commute and will continue in my ipod...

My advice to any person that has never experience a Seminar is get it, GTD Live will give the push you need to get Mind like Water... or at least the water...
 
I just listened to GTD Fast and I must say it is an awesome resource. I also just ordered GTD Live and once I'm through the material I will post my thoughts.

GTD Fast

Can't provide an opinion on GTDLive, but I listen to the GTD Fast program about once a year to recharge my batteries
