How to make myself calling

I spend 4 hours a day commuting. I know it's too much but have no options. I would love to utilize this time. Morning hours (from 8 to 10) I spend on listening to podcasts and learning languages because feel shy to call people so early. Though I feel energized to do so. In the evening I have the same two hours. I want to spend them making phone calls (I usually have 20 to 30 of them always on my lists). Usually I'm stopped by myself because I'm tired or not motivated.

Anybody who solved the same issue?

PS Work hours are spent in meetings plus I have a dedicated time for Processing and @Computer context. Though I can make @Computer actions in between meetings when I would know that my calls would be treated on the way home.

Why is that too early? I try to do all or nearly all of my phone calls to people right at about 8 am or so. Some folks I know I have to call by 7:30 am or I
will not get them at all. I never call anyone after 6 pm unless I have permission to do so. The only time I make calls at 10 am or later is if I am calling people on the west coast and have to wait until it's 8 am there.

Is there some reason you feel 8am is too early to call?

set apointment for phone callt first?

What if u or an assistant set up time for phone calls using email?. You could either make an specific appointment or have the party indicate if she or he prefers the am or pm time, or maybe you can make this communication some other way. Many people welcome a reply by email or text and have grown to hate the phone..
For the sake of your safety you should not make or receive calls when driving and consider yourself lucky to have the time to listen, learn and think. If you are riding a train or bus, all the better for you, use the time to read and learn as u do or get a poker game going with the other commuters on certain days. You deserve a break, your work is clearly intense.

I was trying. Usually had no answer and no call back. I though that called too early for a megapolis :) I will make an experiment next week, will start calling 8 to 10 am to check who picks the phone. Then will post a % here :)
