How to restore the energy level on weekend

I live in a world filled with meetings and phone calls. I can have up to 10 meetings a day. That means i need to have effective weekends to restore the energy. Are you among people who are able to restore their energy level during weekend (or maybe even weekday)? Please share your secrets what kind of activity or inactivity through weekend gives you the maximum booth of energy on Monday morning.

Weekly review

Hi,

I find that doing a weekly review at the end of the week, and getting everything
clear and current is a very good way to start my weekend. Having every open loop
in front of you and saying to yourself: "I'm ok with not doing anything about this
over the weekend." prevents these things from nagging you unconsciously and
taking up even more energy.

Take care.

energy levels

The thing that helps me is to make sure that everything I can possibly do in terms of housework & weekly preparation on the Sunday I get done. It means I go back to work with no nagging feeling about whats waiting for me at home.

One idea i love in particular is that I choose 5 recipes for the coming week, write them on the whiteboard in my kitchen, then go to the local market and buy all the ingredients for them. (I tend to favour this amazing book for recipes).

At the moment Im in one of those intensely busy phases in my life where I often dont get home until 8 and need to be in bed by 10 for the early start, so I really dont have time to think about what to cook, or mess around with recipes that take an hour. Coming home and knowing iv already chosen a recipe and got all the ingredients, all I need to do is look at a list and say "that one" is powerful indeed.

in terms of recuperation, what makes this so great is that you can go to work with nothing on your back. youre not sat at work thinking about whether you have to go to the shops at lunch or on the way home. you can roll home late (again) and you know that you have a tasty healthy meal waiting for you.

Sounds small, but this made such a huge difference to the qualify of my working life.

Weekly Review works for me, early in the weekend.

Also naps, plenty of fresh air, exercise, massage, saunas, lounging, TV, reading, etc. Almost anything where my brain can "turn off" from what it's been working on all week.

Weekend Relaxation

I like to do a lot of "nothing". Sitting in the sun and reading, meeting with friends for brunch or even running errands all provide a lovely contrast to my very busy weeks. I do my weekly review late on Sunday afternoons, when I'm refreshed, relaxed and ready to turn my focus back to the new work week.

Try something relaxing, like sleeping, listening to favorite music or watching a movie.

Sometimes i do some house work like cleaning my room, organise stuff, clean toilet, check/restock supplies...etc make sure everything in order.

other than work, you can embark on some house project you've been wanted to do, like painting the wall, wash the car, do garden work, ..etc. these can be satisfying. :)

and lastly, of course, the weekly review before you end your Sunday. :D

I spin, or knit or weave or work on my scrapbooks or read or take a nap. Just going to the brewery in town for a pint or 2 also helps, lots of good conversations there and it's away from work/home.

Have you though about fire walling some time EACH DAY during the week to process your ins to empty?

I realize this is not what you asked, but an hour a day saves you a five hour backlog at the end of the week.

It looks like doing anything except meetings and calls (the activities my brain was involved a lot through weekdays) would give the needed result? How about meetings with friends then?
