If I switch to a Mac...

Will I be able to use the GTD add-in?
If so, which handheld can I use for calendar and contact info, for easing synching with my Mac? I assume I won't be able to use my current iPAQ, which is running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition and I am planning to upgrade it to Windows Mobile 5.0.
Will I still be able to use my beloved 1.8-pound Vaio on the road? It's running Windows XP Pro.

I began my computer life as a Mac user and reluctantly switched to PCs when I got tired of waiting for every cool gadget that came out to have a Mac version six months or a year after they were available for PCs. Now I'm seriously considering "coming home" to Mac because I'm doing podcasting and media work that seems best done on a Mac, and my entire family has Macs and I have a hard time helping them with computer questions.

Anyway, I could use support and counsel from any GTD Mac fanatics out there.

No. Entourage (M'soft PIM for Macs) is not Outlook, just similar.

Markspace has a sync product for macs and PPC's. See their website for info.

Why not?

There are GTD issues in switching, but it all depends on you, your habits, your preferences.

I can second the 43Folders recommendation. There is a great article about doing GTD on a mac using Kinkless GTD. I just installed all the software and input my data yesterday, so I can't really speak about it from experience. The 43Folders article explains it in great detail, enough so that you should be able to evaluate it against what you are using now. A friend who is on a PC is disappointed that there isn't the same type of thing for PC and that none of the systems out there seem to address all the issues and needs of GTD.

News Flash! "Boot Camp" for Intel Mac's

If you buy one of the new Intel Mac's - you will be able to run both OS-X and Windows XP on the machine. Apple has just released the initial version of "Boot Camp" - which will finally allow users to run both OS on the same hardware.

It is downloadable from the Apple site (just do a search for Boot Camp)

Their next revamp of OS-X (code name: Leopard) will have this as an integrated piece of the OS.

Hardware Problem Solved.

(personally, I think that LifeBalance is OUTSTANDING for running GTD - either on the PC or the Mac; but it synchs to the PALM OS)

Yes, but if you have to boot into Windows do run GTD tasks, you might as well not bother getting a mac. Even with virtualization (e.g. http://www.parallels.com/en/products/workstation/mac/) I'll argue that running Windows programs constantly is not a great plan.
