Jim Fallows has an article in today's New York Times about personal technology, focused primarily on personal search tools. It's very comprehensive, given the length of the article, and mentions some of my favorite tools including:

- Lookout (add-in for Outlook)
- x1 (system-wide search with preview)
- MindManager mind mapping SW
- ResultManager (the GTD-focused add-in for MindManager)

Jim also discusses the demise earlier this year of Scopeware in the face of Microsoft's announced entry into this category.
