ListPro if I have Pocket Informant? (Pocket PC Question)

I just dropped some cash on PI and was wondering: can I GTD comfortably without dropping some more cash on ListPro? (I was a big fan of making lists -- action and non-action -- when my Palm was still alive).

Dang, a new Pocket PC has all these hidden $30 costs: $30 for a case, $30 for Pocket Informant or Agenda Fusion, $30 for ListPro, $30 for Fitaly or MessagEase, . . .

You can implement GTD just fine using the stock apps in WM2003. Neither PI nor AF are necessary (but they are nice).

I spent about a six months looking for the "perfect" setup. I never found it.

Does this mean your GTD lists (with "@" prefixes) and regular lists are all together? That's going to be a lot of scrolling for me, as I was getting to be a listaholic when I had my Palm (waiting for my Pocket PC to arrive in a couple of weeks).

It might be good to keep my GTD lists separate from my burgeoning number of "other" lists e.g. "Key People". This is where ListPro might help, perhaps? I saw a freeware list program called ADB Idea Library which might also work (and save me $30!).

PI and Listpro are both great programs.

I personally use them for different applications.

PI handles my calendar, contacts & tasks.

Listpro handles my grocery list, Christmas planning list, and that kind of thing. It also has premade lists you can use as templates, which can come in handy & save a lot of time.

Before forking out for Listpro though, check out "Superlist" by
ScaryBear Software.

The advantage is that either of these two programs (Listpro and Superlist)will generate a .txt document that will allow you to import into Outlook, which can be handy when using Routine Projects (preparing for a monthly meeting) or a bigger project into your Outlook task list.

I personally use Superlist for small lists, and Listpro for more complex organizing. Both have many of the same features, but the visual of each is quite different.

Is there a good freeware List Manager (checklist app) for Pocket PC? In the Palm world we had HandyShopper. I know that there is a HandyShopper for Pocket PC but it is in the alpha stage (i.e. not ready for prime time).

Have you tried HS for PPC? It is *extremely* stable for an alpha release. It should read all your previous Palm DBs as well.

I'm thrilled to hear that! What's noticeably alpha about it, if anything?

(I would try it, but I'm waiting for my Pocket PC to arrive in the mail).

Also, are you successfully using HS for PPC for doing GTD?
