This is a pretty cool looking piece of software.

Quote from the site:
For PDFs
Every computer has loads of PDF files, probably scattered all over your hard disk. Use Yep to search, view and manage all these documents in one convenient place.

Think of Yep as iPhoto for your documents.

For Paper
Every house has cardboard boxes and filing cabinets full of receipts, important medical records, old letters and income tax returns, usually inconveniently stuck in the basement somewhere. Yep finally gives you a tool to keep all these documents in one place, instantly retrievable and searchable.

You do not need a scanner to use Yep but if you have one Yep will use it to help you scan in all those paper documents.

Yes, it is a nice piece of software, but I got rid of it very shortly after downloading. I don't manage my pdf's in isolation from all the other document-type objects on my computer. Sometimes pdf's come in as forms, documents I need to read, et cetera; sometimes pdf's go out, for paper's I've written, talks I've given, et cetera. So for workflow management, managing just pdf's, or any subclass of documents, is not really useful for me. That's not the case with photos, which do occupy a category of their own. Plus, there are various software options for mingling pictures with other things (Journler comes to mind as an example).

Interesting piece of software ... to me it appears to be offering Mac users a "paper tiger" solution to managing paper.

The management side, presumes that one has a scanner connected to ones Mac. Then has the time and inclination to scan documents plus add metadata to them!

Given that "paper management from paper to PC" (a.k.a Paper Tiger) has been discussed elsewhere on this forums ... pros and cons, Mac users should come to their own conclusions regarding its value/usefulness. For myself, I question the need plus don't have the inclination to do it.
