New In Conversation with Todd Henry

David did a wonderful In Conversation interview with Todd Henry, author of Accidental Creative and his new book releasing this week, Die Empty.

Some highlights for me from this one that Todd shared:
Are you stuck in mediocrity? And the idea of "systemic mediocrity"--love that phrase!
Do you have a culture of permission?
The creative process has a rhythm and humans often try to ignore that when they work
Your work is not about yourself, it's about contributing
Many people are among the busily bored
What skills do you need to meet tomorrow's challenges?
We need to be confidently adaptable
I highly recommend a listen. Available now in the GTD Connect media library.

Index cards?

Todd Henry discloses that his ultimate capture tool consists of a bunch of index cards.

Merlin Mann's Hipster PDA consists of some index cards and a binder clip.

Many people here talk about index cards and use them for different purposes.

The question is:

Are index cards the core advantage that is the key to American productivity, creativity and "checklist based" organization?

Why am I asking this question? Because there is no way to buy anything similar to index cards in Poland (except for some obscure hidden places with school and library supplies). No wonder we are struggling when young entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley and artists in New York simply go to the stationary store nearby...
