I find the "honesty with myself" a GTD critical success factor too. I think the lack of honesty in processing the stuff is a major cause of the "Falling off the GTD Wagon" syndrome. Sometimes we are afraid to decide or we just procrastinate waiting for more facts. But in most cases we will never have enough facts, we will never have the complete knowledge because we don't know the future (maybe you as a physics professor know the future but most people don't ).
