New to FTD - CALLS List and PDA Privacy Question

I'm very new to GTD and am doing kind of a rolling implementation. I'm a little confused about Next Action lists. If I have to make calls for something home related and I have to make lots of calls for work related issues, do all of these next actions go on one @CALLS list?

Also, I'll be synching my Ipaq with a work computer. Privacy could be an issue for personal next actions. Once the data is on the system, it will be on backup tapes for quite a while. Any thoughts on the privacy/PDA synching issues appreciated.

The latter first.

If you mark your entries "Private" this should not be an issue. I use a Palm with Notes at work.

I would say that if you have less than 20 calls to make, keep them on one list. I make private calls at work and vice verca and therefore like to keeo all on one list.

I've been thinking about this, too. I have had a Pocket PC with OUtlook Mobile for 3 weeks now, and although I can mark entries as private, I haven't found a place to tell the Synching software not to synch private items. Or does private only mean, that someone that is not logged in as "me", cannot read these entries?
For the time being I am only synching with my home PC (the Pocket PC is my private PDA), but once I go into the Work computer, I'll have to find out about this...

If you mark entries private, they will still be synced. However they will be private on your work pc as well, meaning that noone will be able to see your entires unless they log in as you.

PJuhl, thanks for that info. Now I just have to take care to mark private items private.

jborganized, I have only one @telephone list, to be consulted whenever I have a phone and some minutes at hand. I also kicked out a list called @shopping and made a list called @city, because it is not as specific. I put the things on the list best suited placewise/toolwise.
So, things I need to buy from a shop or do in the inner city go on the list @city, groceries go on the list @home (my grocer is just around the corner from home). Things to do at the post office go on the list @office, since I have to bring them to work with me to go to the post office near there in the evening. @ontheroad has all the tasks I can do on a train or in the evening in the hotel (some of them are also marked @telephone, and show up on both lists).
 
I haven't used an Ipaq so there may be better security on it than I am aware of. However, unless the data is encrypted, your sys admin (or whoever has sys admin type access on your systems) can still get at your data. If it is really private, this may not be good enough. I have a similar issue. I use a Palm and sync todos and memos with palm desktop. If the many sysadmin capable users on my network decided to get on my computer they could see these lists. It is not a concern right now, but I can imagine that it will be when I put "send updated resume to prospective employer" as a todo. I have no solution yet, but I AM searching for a good, easy to use, encryption system to work with palm.
