I'm brand new to this GTD, using Outlook 2003, exchange server 2007 and Sprint HTC Evo android.
I don't understand why it is recommended that the category of @Calls be used in TASKS. In Outlook, instead of creating a task, I just edit the CONTACT and put @Calls in the category field of the contact. This involves NO COPYING of name, number or anything!!!
On my Sprint HTC Evo droid, I setup the HTC widget "People" specifying the group @Calls and devoting the right half of a screen to see the people I need to call.
Now I can just scroll through the people to call, click on one person, click on their number and the call is made. I can do the whole process with my thumb while holding something in my other hand.
Removing them from @Calls is a bit tougher. With the HTC software, I go into my phone screen, click on the FAR RIGHT of their name, Menu, Edit, Group, and uncheck them from @Calls group.
I would be surprised if other android vendors don't have similar software.
