I have been reading about this Outlook Projects as Contacts for a while and decided to try it today.
I tried a few different things with my Laptop's Outlook 2003 and my PocketPC Pocket Informant.
It appears that 1) if on my laptop contacts are placed in a folder other than the default Contacts folder, they do not sync over to the PocketPC, 2) If I create a "project" contact named "Build House" on my laptop Outlook 2003 in the default Contacts directory, and then link that project/contact to another contact, that link does not sync over to the PocketPC and I can not see that link in Pocket Informant, 3) and also PocketPC contact links do not sync to the Laptop, 4) journal entries (linked of course to a contact) also do not sync, 5) but if I create a catagory on either it WILL sync.
So, it appears that in an Outlook/PocketPC world, the Projects as Contacts does not work very well. I am wondering what people are doing. If you have a PocketPC, and you are using some type of "Projects As" method, are you using "Projects As Categories" or have you found software that has added contact linking capability to your syncing?
I am very interested in "Journal ActiveSync" by the same people who created Pocket Informant to sync my journal activities, and therefore am interested if there is other software that syncs contact links, or maybe journal and contact links.
What are you doing and what extra software are you using?
Do you know if the upcoming upgrade for Pocket Informant will do this? That would be pretty smart of them.
Thanks,
Tim.
