Probes/cue questions for levels of focus?

I need to refresh my memory on what to ask myself as I use the altitude metaphor with its various time frames. It would help me if someone could tell me where to look for these (book, forum??) or post a summary of what you ask yourself. TIA

How do you make your N/A lists "appealing"?

At this point looking at my N/A lists makes me very distressed and anxious. I recall that a fundamental concept in GTD is making your list appealing (not that life is all play and no work, but your lists are taking you were you want to go). These lists just remind me of huge amounts of undelivered committments from me to others and vice versa, and I get clutched in indecision. I even find the tasks on them conufusing (as in looking at an item and having to ask myself "What did I mean by that and why was I doing it?"). My instincts tell me to:
review my list of focus and responsiblity, cull and re-define my projects, and re-align my n/a lists. Would like to hear what other people have done that got them back to working from the lists to get things done.

Moving post to a new topic:
1) Copy post contents to clipboard.
2) Create new topic with new post and paste the contents.
3) Delete original post from this thread.

1. David says that you can plug in a lot of your previous goal setting notes at this level.

2. Identify your work roles (See Michael Hyatt's post on Master Tasking at http://www.davidco.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1855 ) and make sure you have projects that align with these.

3. Take a look at your life balance, for example use

Health,
Family,
Financial,
Intellectual,
Social,
Professional,
Spiritual,

as headings, (you could also add “Fun” and “Creative Fulfillment” … I do). And make sure you have figured out where you want to go in these categories and have projects and plans to match.

Feasibility Check

Had to integrate a feasibility check into my weekly review routine. During the weekly reviews I often found that I got stuck after I had collected and processed all those notes floating around in my office and processed my NA-lists. The next step "working on my projects list" didn't make much sense.

But it makes sense to look at
1.) my list of responsibilities and areas of focus,
2.) recent newspaper articles about the hospital that I work at,
3.) my journal entries about "social affairs" at the hospital,
4.) my list of deadlines and my calendar
5.) the NA-Lists I processed I few minutes ago,
and then decide on the priorities for the next week and schedule the time for the work on the two most important projects for the next week.

This way I "set the stage" for what can be feasibly done next week.
Then it makes sense to look at the lists of projects and say "Sorry Babe, not next week. Well, perhaps maybe during my buffer times".

If your NAs are correctly formulated, they will set you up for a win - they will painlessly put your foot on the first stepping-stone.

You might also consider whether you have to many active projects. If you have too many active projects, it could take many months to fulfill them all. This will lead to a sense of frustration and overwhelm. Don’t bite off more than you can chew. Park some projects on someday/maybe if this is the case.
