Starter Questions regarding the use with toodledo and Pocket Informant!

Hi, I'm almost done reading the GTD book so naturally I have quite a few questions regarding my next step.
When I proceed through the in-box to put a next-action on every actionable task what should I do with projects? Should I just put the first action on it, proceed with the next task and once I'm done with my in-box go back to the projects and then determine every action to be done in order to finish the project?
I'm also not sure where to list actions of a project. Do I need to write it down on the project list and in the category it belongs to (next-action, waiting for, defer etc)? But writing it down twice seems a bit cumbersome.
I also haven't started using toddledo and Pocket Informant yet so I hope this solves the problem by putting an action into a project list and assign it to a category at the same time so it shows up on different lists. The other problem this could cause on the other hand is if I would write down every future task of a project to get a good outline which obviously would list actions that can't be done until I'm done with the previous one or is there a way to toggle actions on and off?
Hope this wasn't too confusing, thanks!

btw I'm wanna use toodledo and Pocket Informant since I'm using my iPhone and PC and need everything backed up online. The native note app also serves as my digital in-box which instantly syncs with Google Notes.

Hi there. Could be that none of the 80 people use Toodledo+PocketInformant, so they didn't reply. I don't either, but am happy to comment on the GTD-specific questions.

You want to capture at least one next action on each project. But don't limit yourself to just one if you want to capture more than that on the ones that you can do in parallel that are not dependent. Really up to you.

Actions of a Project are listed on the Next Action lists. They don't need to also go on Project Plans unless you want that kind of double tracking for historical purposes or need that kind of history for others to see as well. Sequential, future actions are considered Project Support. Don't put those on your Next Action lists until you can do them. Only next actions go on the Action lists. Incubate everything else in Project Support until you can do it. Again, your Weekly Review should capture this and move those Project Support actions forward.

I'd highly recommend you try the 14-day trial of GTD Connect, if for no other reason than to watch the Webinar on Project Planning: https://secure.davidco.com/connect/multimedia/video.php?titleid=296&trackid=863 It would help a ton I bet, as what you've asked we specifically cover in that one.

Hope this helps,
Kelly
