Tasks added in Project view do not appear as tasks in @label

Hi everyone - this is my first post and I'd like to begin by saying that I feel GTD is the kind of app I've been waiting years for ... so, thanks to all those who have been developing this (and why haven't I heard of this before? Doh!). I'm going with the 30 day trial and evaluating it as best I can - it certainly looks like it can handle most of what I need.

Back to the "problem": I've found that if I create a new task from within a project or sub-project, e.g. an @calls, it only appears when I launch the project or sub-project, and not when I'm looking through my @calls "folder."

If it were in my @calls "folder," then I'd be able to see all my outstanding calls at a glance, but I can't ... because I need to open up each project/sub-project separately, and that's not particularly feasible with multiple projects on the go.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way to see all such tasks easily? I'm sure it's just me doing something wrong.

NOTE: I've mainly been applying GTD to incoming mails this week, more so than previous emails and existing tasks.

GTD isn't an application, it's a process that can be used with any number of various implementations from plain paper to a whole host of computer applications.

What particular system are you using? Computer? Operating System? Software package to implement GTD?

Ok, I agree GTD is a process or methodology -definitely so. However, I refer to it as an app (also) because it's a piece of software that serves (for me) as an Outlook 2007 plugin, which in turn enables me to manage my tasks and projects more effectively. That's the part I'm referring to as an app.

Perhaps I should've realised this forum is here to support the GTD method, not just the software - maybe that's the cause of the confusion.

As for the problem: if I use Project Central to look up a project or sub-project, and from within that view decide to add a task with an Action, e.g. @calls, then that task/Action will not appear in my @calls "folder" in my Inbox. It only appears as a standalone task. Which makes it harder to "see" all my outstanding calls because I have to drill down (from within @calls).

Does that make it easier to understand?

The Netcentrics Outlook add-in is a separate product, produced and supported by Netcentrics. Software does get discussed here, mostly under the Gear, Gadgets, Software, and Toys forum, but these fora are not a substitute for dedicated fora to support 3rd-party software. While someone here might be able to help you, there are support fora for Netcentrics at

Yes, And I have no idea how to address the concerns you have in Outlook. I use Omnifocus for my GTD implementation. I echo the suggestion to talk to Netcentrics directly since they made the SW you are using.
