dear Allens forum,

I wrote in a record card here, see picture attached.

Basically from the teens book *

there was written literally a type of Image diagram showing a picture of a daily review, saying the most basic form is just looking at your calendar, and then your next actions.

#is it worth I add the image after? * I set it as my phone screen.

And I've stopped doing this for say the past 3 - 5 days.
this post linked to the previous posts I made about the teens book which have received no replies by users in the group.
#should I bump them after?
and also linked to - the post made about topic of myself trying to find the best type/s habit tracker , where wasn't able to come to a conclusion - and that was something which I was having a yearning in my mind like - I could b, things could be completely different for myself if I sorted out a habit tracking system.

or '

not worth mentioned literally about the YT video

a person - who studies loads uses habit tracker "

Don't worry about that too much. What you do today is more important.

Ideally, we would all look at our calendars and lists every day, but I know I miss days sometimes or even entire weeks now and then. The important thing is that I start checking my calendars and lists again.

which made a post I could update

or can bin record card after

I still maybe could share right now I feel what I do on a daily basis feels disorganized

"we would all look at our calendars and lists every day,"
Yes calendars - we should do all at least 1nce a day
-makes me think I actually have something - habit of repeatedly opening up the calendar app on my phone - just looking at it on the normal type screen, then backing off it? and im not sure how much it actually helps - to do this type spontesous (typo) action multiple times throughout the day

Do you understand what im trying to express -yes or no? - for example said "check your calendar whenever you are waiting" by a#allen - and might do something just double check moments through the day (to do with my circadian rhythm like when I feel more tired

or p.s.

"and lists every day," I have multiple lists scattered in my room I don't look at everyday " s

@cfoley

I try to check my calendar periodically throughout the day. The whole point of the calendar is that it remembers things so you don't have to. Check it as often as you need or want.

I probably don't have as much on my calander a you

"remembers things so you don't have t" - yes but I have short term memory problems ! - MENTAL ILLNESS
so paradoxically - if I were do something like check my calendar very frequently - its not going to help my brain ?

like - herd the advice "check your calendar whenever you are waiting in real life quote by allen ... wrote to @René Lie
- I feel probably applies less to myself

in background had idea question - would it make a difference if I literally just checked once a day - no joke

It you don't utilize your "external brain" (calendar and lists), your brain has to take back the job of remembering, which is the opposite of doing GTD.
My calendar is also quite empty, and I check it when I feel I need to, but if a day is completely empty, checking it one time on that day will be fine. Other than that, I'll check it several times a day.

when you look at calendar you are remembering - seeing right

my calendar is a mess

That's right, but when you suggest only looking at your calendar once a day, your brain has to memorize what's in the calendar, potentially creating cognitive stress from fear of forgetting what's in the calendar!

The GTD book clearly describes what belongs in your calendar.

what so maybe its best

I check it lest twice per day you say

and also
when - like in real life
I'm either contemplating a decision of what to do

or - when I by surprised am forced to wait for something happen for some extra time short while - say 3 mins ( and wouldn't be worth start another activity

you understand?

Those are good examples of when to take a quick look at your calendar, yes.

Just be careful using a set number of times to check your calendar each day. If today's calendar is empty, there's no need to check it again - unless you want to see what lies ahead the next couple of days.

On the other hand, if there's a lot of things in the calendar, you might want to check it many times during the day.

OK so i should stick to trying to do that?

OK todays was empty basically? , seem be empty a lot

Do you check your calendar a set amount of times?

Sure!

Isn't that wonderful?
Do you check your calendar a set amount of times?
No, just whenever I feel I need to, which can be quite a lot of times during the workday. I am terrible at remembering what's in my calendar, and I am perfectly fine with that, because my calendar is great at remembering!

The calendar is for day specific next actions. The ones that are just day specific and not time specific I put in all day events. Also Time and date specific events go in time slots. Next actions at a certain time and appointments. Personal an professional are on the same calendar. I don't even color code the different categories. My thought is one life that I have to fit all the stuff into goes on one calendar with all the stuff stuffed in it. I really don't have much cluttering my calendar though. I look at it daily and a week out when i do my weekly review.
