Tip for travellers: jet lag cure

Hi all,

For those of you frequent travellers who are regularly subjected to jetlag, I'd like to share a very useful tip: The homeopathic combination remedy of Arnica and Cocculus in a 1MK potency works wonders to help quickly re-set your internal clock and adjust much more quickly to the new time zone you must be functional in.

Although I am not a frequent traveller myself, a number of my patients are, and I have been able to observe a high success rate with those that have followed this advice. In fact, they now swear by it as an essential item on their travel checklist, and they begin sipping on this remedy about 24 hours before departure.

What is Arnica?
What is Cocculus?
How are they derived?
and how much is a 1MK potency?
Are they natural?
Are there side-effects?

I'm sorry for the barrage of questions, just generally before I put some foreign substance which has medicinal effects I like to know more about it.

Hi,

To answer your questions - Homeopathic remedies can be derived and prepared from any substance, but mostly from the mineral, plant, and animal kindgdoms.

Both Arnica, and Cocculus are from the plant kingdoms. Arnica is for that "bruised all over" type of sensation of sleep deprivation, and cocculus addresses the kind of dazed, altered perception which accompanies sleep deprivation.

The remedies are prepared through a process of serial dilution and succussion (Process of potentization) which attenuates any potential toxic components, and accentuates the essence of each remedy. This way, they are applied more on the basis of bio-resonance rather than bio-chemistry, and there are no side effects. The basic therapeutic principle is 'The Law of Similars', or Like cures Like - a kind of 'The hair of the dog that bit you' concept, sort of like the idea of allergy shots.

The 1MK potency referrs simply to how many steps of dilution a remedy was taken through - 'M' is the roman numeral for 1000, and 'K' refers to a particular type of process used.

I hope this brief response answers your questions.

Homeopathy is not science

I had hoped that the original post would gather no attention. Aside from having no connection to GTD, homeopathy is not science. The idea that dilution enhances the effect of a remedy is classic homeopathy- see Martin Gardner's classic Fads and Fallacies in the Name of Science (google Martin Gardner homeopathy). I have only seen discussions of the "Law of Similars" in discussions of the (ahem) theoretical basis of magic. Of course, it has no basis in reality.

Purchase, perchance...

Where might I find this nifty concoction to give it a whirl on my next overseas jaunt?

Arriving without jet-lag to my destination is quite related to GTD IMHO (which it is just that).
