Transfer text w/o CopyPaste

Does anyone know of a software program that will allow you to use your courser or pointer to select text and have it automatically input that text into a Word or Excel document? Such that, if you had your screen split with a PDF document and Word you could "highlight" the text on the PDF and without using a Copy/Paste function have it appear on the Word document (some sort of OCR may also be necessary).

How about drag and drop?

I just opened a pdf file on my left monitor and a blank Word doc on the right one.

I highlighted a paragraph in the pdf doc, draged it on to the Word doc and the text transfered.

Was the PDF doc electronically created or a physical scan of another document?

I have not tried this yet but it looks promising.........

AutoHotkey is a free, open-source utility for Windows. With it, you can:
Automate almost anything by sending keystrokes and mouse clicks. You can write a mouse or keyboard macro by hand or use the macro recorder.
