User Groups Forum Folder for Starting User Groups

There seems to be a section for user groups, but it's empty. May I suggest creating a forum folder for the sole purpose of starting informal user groups.

This way, if a person wants to start a group, he/she can post a thread about it and the thread won't disappear after a week. And likewise, if some want to see if there is a group or another person wihin their local area interested in meeting, at least they will know where to look for that information.

I was thinking something straightforward. Each week, we pick a chapter or topic from the original getting things done book. People share their successes, failures, and questions about that topic, then we pick another one. I'd be happy to moderate.

I just won't be in charge of "next actions." For the life of me, I keep making project-sized next actions. ;-)

Online Groups

To me, "user group" means it is in my locale -- I can physically attend the meetings.

There are several Yahoo groups devoted to GTD. The first two groups are fairly new. The Palm group is older and the topics vary in their usefulness, but there is lots of information there. The Pocket PC group isn't as active.

To me too, a "user group" is a local user group (although nothing prevents anyone from starting a virtual user group).

I was thinking that a forum folder could be set up for this and each person interested could start a new thread with a city name and a corresponding state/country.
