Waiting/Calendar/Tickler?

My subordinate got a task from me. I put this task into @Waiting folder. I know that I need to followup on this task in 3 months. Should I leave it in the @Waiting or put it in the calendar or tickler?

I make these sorts of decisions based on how often I want to see the item in question.

Do I want to see it every time I look in the Waiting folder, starting immediately? Maybe I do, maybe I don't. If I don't, I'll push it forward into the Bring-Forward Files.

Cheers,
Roger

I have a third option for you. I sometimes track items like this on a @agendas for the delegate. If you want periodic updates then this keeps it in front of you as an option to bring up during your next or future meeting.

If it is truly a discrete item that is something they need to do but can't do until closer to the 3 month deadline, consider creating a reminder note and place it in your tickler (calendar forward) to reappear in a couple months.

I would give it a tickler for three months, and then when it surfaces three months from now, re-tickle it every day until I get the answer I need.
