Does anyone have an electronic version of the weekly review? e.g. as text or a Word document, to save me having to type it all into my Palm

I'm sure it used to be on the website, but (I guess) it was removed once they started selling the cheklists on laminated card!

(this is from DA's doc, if this is not cool, then Webmaster please delete it)

Review this for the first couple of weeks, and then it will probably become second nature to
you. I suggest, also, that you copy and paste this list into your word processor, and then edit it to add
your own extra reminders that are unique to your life. I keep my own personal Weekly Review as a list
in my PalmPilot so I can remind myself of what I need to think about to get to a clean slate. - DA
This is the critical behavior to make personal organization a vital, dynamic reality, and for fully implementing
the Action to Outcome method. A great time to do it is early Friday afternoon, as it will invariably
surface small actions which could get completed if you can catch people still at work.

Loose Papers
Pull out all scraps of paper, business cards, receipts, and miscellaneous paper. Put into your in-basket
to process.

Process Your Notes
Review any "Journal/Notes" types of entries, meeting notes, and miscellaneous notes scribbled on
notebook paper. Decide and enter action items, projects, waiting-for's, etc. as appropriate.

Review Previous Calendar Data
Review past calendar in detail for remaining action items, reference data, etc. and transfer into the
active system.

Review Upcoming Calendar
Review upcoming calendar events - long and short term. Capture actions triggered.

Empty Your Head
Put in writing (in appropriate categories) any new projects, action items, waiting-for's, somedaymaybe's,
etc. not yet captured.

Review Action Lists
Mark off completed actions. Review for reminders of further action steps to record.

Review Waiting-For List
Record appropriate actions for any needed follow-up. Check off received ones.

Review Project (and Larger Outcome) Lists
Evaluate status of projects, goals and outcomes, one by one, ensuring at least one current action item
on each. Browse through work-in-progress support material to trigger new actions, completions, waiting-
for’s, etc.

Review Any Relevant Checklists
Use as a trigger for any new actions.

Review Someday/Maybe List
Review for any projects which may now have become active, and transfer to "Projects." Delete items
no longer of interest.

Be Creative & Courageous
Any new, wonderful, hare-brained, creative, thought-provoking, risk-taking ideas to add into your system???

Hey Jason, thanks for that list!

I stole 2 ideas from you that just got added to my Weekly Review Checklist. I love the first one! I carry a very small "grooming bag" with me everywhere, due to my schedule, and this will save me from running out of stuff!

I would love to see portions of others Weekly Review's here, so i can steal more good ideas!!!

Coz

-go through my travel bags (suitcase and toiletries bag) and replace/restock anything that's low,

-purge/restock an area or two on my desk (fill printer with paper, stapler with staples, water a plant, check the electric plugs by the floor to make sure they are in contact, etc).

-------------------
Note that everything down to the Palm Desktop piece is
normally done everyday and is just part of getting
ready for the weekly review and not actually part of
the review itself.

30,000' - 50,000' and the incompletion triggers list
is typically only done once a month or so.

I hope this helps someone!

Thanks for sharing your list Ricky!

I'd love to see your work list too. Of course I really need to just start doing rather than thinking about doing! :)

My Weekly Home Review list is a little more comprehensive than my Weekly Work Review list. I think that you will get more out of this one.

I do two separate reviews, and have two separate lists, becuase I have to keep my full-time job very separate from everything else. I also have two side businesses (as seen in my 20,000' section). I work full-time as a web developer for a large credit union and I also have a side business doing web development. I have to make sure to avoid potential conflicts of interest at all costs.

A couple more explanations: I use my computer's desktop for temporary file storage, hence the instruction to "delete old icons from desktop". This is usually done only weekly and not daily.

My other categories are @Work, @WorkProjects, and @WorkWaiting. I use DateBk5 and primarily use my Palm lists as I am "doing" work. I use DateBk5's filters to view special lists for @yard, @palm, @laptop, @sunday, @desktop, and @tv inside my @Home list.

I got the four "Questions" from Ready for Anything. They have proven incredibly valuable to answer during the weekly review. I haven't seen anyone else use them regularly except myself but they really provide a needed point of view.

For the 20,000' staff meeting I actually imagine myself as CEO and asking my "Manager of Spirituality" if everything is going as he feels is needed. I'll even have a conversation in my mind with him. When we are done I move on to my "Manager of Marriage" and repeat the process. This little bit of creativity has freed me up a great deal to look at these areas of focus in a new light.

Good luck with your own!
