What Lists Do You Keep in Your System

I thought it would be interesing to see what lists other GTD users keep in their GTD systems, and maybe I'd get some good ideas. :wink:

Here's my list 'o lists:

  • Activities to Do - places to visit, sites to see, local activites, etc.
    Beers to Try
    Books to Buy
    Books to Read Next
    CDs to Buy
    DVDs to Buy
    Gift Ideas for Deb (my wife) - whenever she mentions something or I see something she might like.
    Gift Ideas for Me - when I see something I might like
    Local Restaurants to Try
    Movies to See
    Office Supplies Needed
    Recipes to Try - whenever I find a recipe in a book, magazine, on TV, etc.
    Travel Prep Checklist
    Wines To Try

I like to share lists too so here's mine :)

- objectives/goals
- Copywriting (tips/techniques)
- writing ideas
- pin numbers and bank logins
- herb reference (medicinal cheatsheet)
- home/crafts (room color plans, stencil ideas, crochet projects/colors)
- open/hours (local businesses)
- Inspirations
- checklists
- game tips/strategies/dependencies (I occasionally play strategy games)
- telephone area codes
- food nutrition
- low carb recipes
- GTD trigger lists
- gift list/ideas
- house things to buy
- key people/relations (this one is in Bonsai and holds fav colors, interests/hobbies, medical/illness record, teachers/friends, etc.)

Think that's most of them at the moment :)

Chicago trip (packing list for this upcoming trip)
Gift ideas to buy
Grocery store (rather than make a task, I store items here that I want to buy)
GTD guidelines (some tips)
GTD Natural planning model (from the book)

Model numbers (what lawn mower do I have?)
Packing list (for trips in general)
Proposal Writer's Jargon Generator (funny way to generate meaningless phrases, like "responsive logistical mobility")

Camera tips (for new digital camera, stuff like minimum focus distance)
Magic Tricks (simple ones I show children of business contacts when I get invited to their house)

All of the above are grouped in categories, and I have many more that are specific to me, references, like IP addresses, directions to clients, etc. I have about 120 of these as Notes in Outlook, Memos in Clie.

My lists are pretty-much by the book, so I won't bore you.

But I want to nominate "beers to try" as my favorite list suggestion. It's brilliant. Because, by the time you get to the 9th or 10th, the "thinking part of the brain" has checked out. It's nice to have a list to refer to for the next order.

(just kidding. Drink responsibly).
