Did you calculate how much interest you are earning by not paying early?

Since the value of my time is very important for me I am organizing payments and other errands to save my time - not to earn $1 more per month.

Very good point. Since this procedure costs about four seconds or less per item (a second or two to put the bill in the tickler, and a second and a half to move it from IN to MAIL when it resurfaces) and some of the payments are for quite substantial amounts I'm coming out ahead.

One thing I haven't calculated is whether it actually saves time over mailing each individual item as soon as I write the check. Since my system tends to aggregate things into a few larger bunches of mail rather than lots of one-off items, I might even be saving time overall.
