A couple of things to try. First, go ahead and capture again if you’re not sure. Sometimes you will capture the exact same thing, sometimes you will get something usefully different, and sometimes you’ll be wrong and it hasn’t already been captured. This builds trust in the capture process, and also leads to better, more effective capture. Second, practice setting a mental trigger for capturing later if you can’t do it right away. For example, say to yourself “When I’m back at my desk, I’ll capture this new idea about the XYZ project.” Setting intention this way will help in several ways. Finally, make sure to move items beyond capture to the other workflow stages. Your mind has to trust that something will be handled appropriately, not just captured and then ignored. Good luck!
