Computer language query

My sister in law lives in Italy and is thinking of buying a laptop. She has one on trial at the moment, and her problem is that it is set up to run in Italian (not her first language).

Is there a way to change the language in which a computer displays information, or does she need to ask for the operating software to be reinstalled in English?

Thanks all,

Dave

Regional and Language Options

I have made the assumption that the laptop is using Windows as an OS. You might try selecting Regional and Language Options from the Control Panel and changing the language from the Regional Options tab.

Language problem

Dave,

The Language is controlled by the installed operating system. If your sister wants the laptop to work in the English language, than an English version of the Operating system must be installed. I believe that when you buy a new Laptop, at the first use you get the option to install the local language or the English. Also, if she wants to use Office in English, she should buy the English version. Do not install an English version of Office on an Italian OS. The messages will get messed up.

Cor
