Some people confuse GTD and productivity with neatness. So, does your messy desk show that you are unorganized….or does it mean you are creative? It could depend on how your boss views it?

I don't know what it says about me, but my desk (and most of the rest of my life) is sort of a sine wave for organized vs a mess. If i'm not cleaning, i'm accumulating. Sometimes I hit a singularity and sweep everything on my desk into a tote, and reintroducing items only as needed. I'd categorize my desk as "wabi sabi" (Japanese, meaning "perfect imperfection"). I am, in general, the creative in a non-creative world.
