Does learning coding have application to implementing GTD?

Are you REALLY sure that you want to learn coding?

I ask because I have thought this to myself, too, and I have spent money on and quite some time doing courses. But I think that since I don't really see (for the time being) what projects I would like to create with this skill, it's hard to dedicate myself enough to it.

This may just be me, of course. But as we are recommended in the GTD methodology through the Natural Planning Model: always start with seeking out the purpose - the 'why'...

I think knowing why is crucial, because there are many different programming languages and many different styles of programming. I am reasonably skilled in scientific programming, but learning to program a modern interactive program for something like a Mac or Windows PC would feel like starting something new and different.

Why not?

you don't need to spend money'

Coding is something which is intellectual which is one of my weakness

OK

P.S.

HOW had other words

yeah.

you probably have better IQ then me.

See - in my mind.
felt - maybe best thing for me - is thing type of course resources which are suited for myself e.g. my level - you understand?
erm like for example literally the most low level such as - scratch comes to mind from the past
would it hurt me ?
I'm not sure

I'm not sure could I get academic benefits using scratch

cos basically - from my previous shared posts in this group - sort of feel looking courses links I shared - maybe too high level'

There’s lots of good reasons to learn programming, and it’s not a skill only a certain type of person can learn. It’s also fine to start something not sure where you are going. Maybe “Research different ways to learn programming” is your initial project. That’s more doable than “Learn programming.” Give yourself as easy a win as you can.

'thanks for this idea - no one else suggested which seems , after started using codeAcademy '

@René Lie

In deed . . . agree . . . "the 'why'" as rigorously as possible can save so much time-&-effort . . . akin to "a stich in time saves nine" ?

Thank you sir

I don't understand your English fully here?

your saying - I need to write out 'my why ' if I am going to be successful coding ?

@TimBourne

To discover one's reason for doing something . . . to discover one's purpose for starting anything . . . it might be a good idea to asks oneself the question "why" for better clarity through reflection ?

"Success" is something one only sometimes has control over since other reality factors can become unavoidable factors beyond one's control like the weather; healthy-or-sickly, rich-or-poor, smart-or-stupid, etc. ?

As such, 'success' is when chance, health, opportunity, perseverance, skill, ect. are pleasingly facilitating 'success' ?

As you see GTD fit. . . .

Ps. In regards to GTD, your GTD perseverance skill development has been most commendable . . . it continues to be an honor . . . something you own and you earned and no one can take it from you . . . good job . . . thank you very much
