I think knowing why is crucial, because there are many different programming languages and many different styles of programming. I am reasonably skilled in scientific programming, but learning to program a modern interactive program for something like a Mac or Windows PC would feel like starting something new and different. Are you REALLY sure that you want to learn coding?
I ask because I have thought this to myself, too, and I have spent money on and quite some time doing courses. But I think that since I don't really see (for the time being) what projects I would like to create with this skill, it's hard to dedicate myself enough to it.
This may just be me, of course. But as we are recommended in the GTD methodology through the Natural Planning Model: always start with seeking out the purpose - the 'why'...
Why not?Are you REALLY sure that you want to learn coding?

Coding is something which is intellectual which is one of my weaknessBut I think that since I don't really see (for the time being) what projects I would like to create with this skill, it's hard to dedicate myself enough to it.

yeah.I think knowing why is crucial, because there are many different programming languages and many different styles of programming.
you probably have better IQ then me.I am reasonably skilled in scientific programming, but learning to program a modern interactive program for something like a Mac or Windows PC would feel like starting something new and different.
There’s lots of good reasons to learn programming, and it’s not a skill only a certain type of person can learn. It’s also fine to start something not sure where you are going. Maybe “Research different ways to learn programming” is your initial project. That’s more doable than “Learn programming.” Give yourself as easy a win as you can.yeah.
you probably have better IQ then me.
See - in my mind.
felt - maybe best thing for me - is thing type of course resources which are suited for myself e.g. my level - you understand?
erm like for example literally the most low level such as - scratch comes to mind from the past
would it hurt me ?
I'm not sure
I'm not sure could I get academic benefits using scratch
cos basically - from my previous shared posts in this group - sort of feel looking courses links I shared - maybe too high level'

'thanks for this idea - no one else suggested which seems , after started using codeAcademy 'There’s lots of good reasons to learn programming, and it’s not a skill only a certain type of person can learn. @René Lie
In deed . . . agree . . . "the 'why'" as rigorously as possible can save so much time-&-effort . . . akin to "a stich in time saves nine" ?
Thank you sir
@TimBourneI don't understand your English fully here?
your saying - I need to write out 'my why ' if I am going to be successful coding ?
