European source for file folders wanted

Hi,
I'm looking to revamp my filing system and I've searched everywhere I could think of for a source of tabbed manilla file folders. I live in England and I've looked at the major office suppliers' websites in this country. I quick surf to US' staples.com displays them in the first box under filing, but all British sites just don't have them! It's driving me nuts! How come there is no demand over here?!?
Does anyone know of a source for A4 sized file folders in Europe?

I live in England too. I use OfficeGiant and have found them to be reliable and competitive on price.

HOWEVER, I would recommend you carefully consider using square cut folders. Also use foolscap if you can, to leave more space for A4 papers.

The advantages of the square cut folders are:
  • No tabs to get bent or damaged
  • (heavier weight (270gsm), in this case, so folders won't get damaged so quickly anyway)
  • No worries about keeping a left-to-right sequence when you insert an extra folder in your filing system.
  • No worries about running out of folders with the tab in a particular position first.
  • No worries about long labels running off the end of the tab
  • Easier to scan with your your eyes when all labels lined up
  • Looks neater, I believe

I live in Italy and I had the same trouble. Through a colleague of mine, I bought the Elba folders. But I found the Philip idea great!

I found them at Euroffice.
I bought the A4 size ones first time, but found them to be rather flimsy and they appear to be foolscap ones that have had one edge trimmed to bring them down to A4 size, so one of the tabs is smaller than the others.

I use foolscap folders, but the slightly heavier ones which are much better quality. Search for Tabbed folders.
 
Another complete filing system

The german company 'Mappei' www.mappei.de produces a complete filing system (folders, tabs, boxes, furniture, bags...) that have helped me set up my GTD System, and it keeps infesting my whole company with its very sophisticated simplicity.

Size question

Hello again,

Thinking about this again I realize size is an issue because of my current file boxes. Could I prevail upon those of you that have either the Elba A4 size folders or the square cut foolscap folders to measure them length-wise? That would be most helpful as these measurements are not specified on various vendor sites. Inches or centimetres doesn't matter.
