GTD for Mac?!

As a Mac user i'd like to know what the best way is to implement GTD with your mac. There are so many tips and tricks for GTD and outlook... but how about any plugins available for iCal, Apple Mail or other Apple programs?
Please let me know!!!

Try Thinking Rock

I'm a user and big fan of Thinking Rock. It is Java based but works on OSX, Windows and Linux and the data files shared cross platform with no problem. I use it on a USB drive for Windows at work and on my Macs at home.

The developers are great, there is an active community on the forums, and the program is free (donations accepted). It is currently in a 2.0 epsilon release (3rd iteration prior to an official 2.0 release - beta, delta, epsilon...)

Best of all - it is pure GTD with a graphical menu for (COPRD) Collect, Organize, Process, Review, Do)

PDF reports, ical integration, it works well. Check it out.

I used the "kinkless" plugin for Omnioutliner. I am looking to move to an online solution (backpack or something similar- I haven't decided). With quicksilver, adding things to the system is about as easy as it gets.

Sync to iCal and VOILA!
 
iGTD is worth a look

As far as desktop apps go, I've been most impressed with iGTD which syncs with iCal, Address Book, and a slew of Mac apps (including Journler which is my current "junk drawer app" for web clippings, draft writing, etc.). Both iGTD and Journler are donationware.

Mac GTD software

I recently switched to a Mac and have also been trying different software applications. I like iGTD the best so far. It will sync to iCal and then to my Palm using Missing Sync. I had some initial difficulty getting this to work but it is now working well. I also tried Actiontastic wich synced well, but I like the iGTD interface better. There is another program called Midnight Inbox that has more of the GTD process built into the app--- similar to thinking rock. It is nicely organized, has a beautiful interface and is very well set up to collcect stuff from all over your computer. (I do get things done, but I enjoy playing with software)

Omni Outliner question

I believe I already have Omni Outliner loaded onto my Mac. I'm not that tech savvy so I can't tell if it's a trial version I downloaded or if I already had it.

My question is, does it synch with the Palm OS? I used to use Thought Manager as my outliner program and loved it. It still lives on my Palm, but it's not supported by the Mac which I now use.

I want to be able to press a button on my Palm that opens up all my outlines (checklists). Is this possible with Omin Outliner?

It's likely Omni Outliner came with your mac. It doesn't sync directly with a Palm. Try Brain Forest- it is adequate on both Mac and Palm.
 
OmniFocus is well worth a look

Back in July I posted my preferences were iGTD and Journler. While I still can recommend both as excellent choices, I have been working with the alpha releases of OmniFocus and really like what the team at Omni has been doing. The public beta is now available (official release is slated for early January) and there's a hefty discount if you purchase a license prior to the official release.

I don;t want to get into the free vs. commercial debate. I know the developer of iGTD ultimately plans to release a paid version but has stated that there will always be a free version of his app and I think that's admirable.

Also, after using Journler for a while, I've returned to Yojimbo from BareBones Software. Again - it's a commercial vs. free thing. journler is a very nice app but I don't need a lot of what it does and I like Yojimbo's integration with the OS.

All are worthy candidates for GTD on the Mac. YMMV so take advantage of the trial periods, experiment, and see which best suits your needs and work style.
