Ho - i use outlook 2007 with the netcentrics GTD plugin. It works well, and I was very happy having tasks sync to my Blackberry, as the BB task app allowed me to view my next actions by context.

Recently I've started also using an iphone with ios5 and the reminder app. I am able to sync tasks from outlook to the iphone reminders app (i have the iphone doing an activesync connection to our exchange servers at work), but it seems like "category" information is not carried over to the iphone. I am unable to see any info about the category/context of the task.

For example - i just entered a task on my laptop in outlook, and put it in the @Calls context. I check the iphone, and the new task has synced over to it, but there is no way to see the context (the info doesn't seem to be there in the task on the iphone), and definitely no way to easily just show the tasks for a certain context.

Is anyone else able to make this work on the iphone when tasks are being synced from outlook set up in the "normal" way?

I am in a similar situation. Working with Outlook 2010 and trying to decide what my new mobile device will be. My blackberry's screen just died and my company offers me a choice between a new blackberry and an iPhone 4S.

Overall I have a preference for the iPhone, but need it to have an app that can handle my tasks (with categories/context) seamlessly integrated with my Outlook through the company exchange server. The reminders app looks like what I need from an integration perspective. Interested to hear if someone got it to work with categories/contexts.

I just today bumped into exactly the same issue. Anyone have any insights? I don't want to have to go back to a berry...
 
iMExchange 2 for iPhone, iPad

I have corporate Outlook with Exchange and webapp support. iMExchange 2 works perfectly. the setup is similar to setup of Outlook Mail on iphone, but in my case I had to use webapp.XXX.com instead of webmail.XXX.com

You can display tasks and notes sorted by Category.

If you install and upgrade to continuous sync, that means you can change, complete and save tasks from the iphone back to Outlook.

My solution to managin tasks when using an iPhone with Outlook 2010 is to make each context a different Task folder instead of using categories. On the iPhone each folder shows up as a separate list. In order to assign a context to a task, move the task to the desired folder in Outlook, or into the desired list on the iPhone.

Can you describe how this works? How do I create folders in Tasks?

I'm also interested in the steps to make this work most efficiently.

And this doesn't create duplicates or conflicts with the Categories assigned to Tasks in GTD Outlook Add-In?
