I often think that your Areas of Focus are like your unique biography. Your personal areas of focus exist before you ever start work, make goals, or discover GTD. Combined with your work Areas of Focus they make up the complete set of lenses through which you think, feel, and look out at the world. They are the geography of your inner self.

Contexts are how you divide up the external world. If you get it right your list of contexts should make up your complete external world. Contexts are where we actually do what we plan to do.

So it follows that for constant fulfilment of our open loops we need to become experts at maximising our use of contexts. They are where our wishes find reality and completion.

Which leaves the question, should we try to force our way towards specific contexts in order to speed up productivity and fulfilment?
