L'uomo è mobile.

NO. It's a single thing not a series of steps Spinning is a single task. That it can be stopped and started DOES NOT negate that it is a SINGLE task!
Okay. We're slowly moving into a discussion like this: Is reading a book one chapter a day a single task or more? I'm inclined to think it's more. It's possible, however, that this is just one of many discussions like: Windows or Linux, Android or iOS, C++ or Java, etc. Most of the world is doing better because the list of such discussions is limited. Here in Poland, we also have topics like:
- tomato soup with rice or pasta
- Winiary or Kielecki mayonnaise
- Christmas Eve: cabbage with peas or mushrooms; carp or salmon
- cucumber salad: sliced or grated cucumber
- etc. ;)

I have a next action to process historical data I've captured that will not end because I continue to collect historical information and continue to load the archive. I record how many are queued up at the end of a working session and it helps me understand where I am on it. It works for me.

I really enjoy this topic.
I tried to plan with omnifocus. I dropped lot of tasks letting live into the system. The result was poor. Life is unpredictable. Nothing happens like we imagined. It was a loose of time and energy. Instead, Then i only tagged the very next action and waiting for items.When i need to plan i make a mind map. It gives me a nice bird view of my engagement (project) then i only put the very next action it makes easier the system
Also, i dont let in OF Actif all my yearly projects. Each week during my weekly review i choose 10 weekly projects maximum. others goes on a someday may be list
I would be un able to manage 122 projects. It is just impossible for me !

I looked for a long time for a system that would allow me to get the best of both worlds:
  • Planning: A place to store all the actions I can foresee for a project.
    Only if I feel the need to do so.
    A single next action is often fine.
    If some of them become obsolete, I just cancel them.
    Allows me to get them out of my head;

  • Execution: A list of only the actions I flag as next actions.
    Associating a context is a sufficient flag.
    All actions that don't yet have a context are simply action possibilities, not next actions.
That way, actions I want to consider in the future for a project are stored safely without them obfuscating the actual next actions when I need to execute.

As a bonus, I also wished my ideal system would:
  • Allow instant filter of next actions and projects by area of focus (personnal, work, family, community, etc.);
  • Allow instant filter of next actions by context;
  • Order my next actions based on the priority order of my projects;
  • Allow breaking down a project in sub-projects.
I had to develop my own GTD Web application over many years to do so...

Wow. Is this a local or server-based solution?
It is offered as a free public facing Web application that can be used in any browser both on computer and mobile devices (data always in sync).
It's only in French at the moment and there's no official documentation yet, but feel free to try it out. Since you know the GTD methodology, you should grasp the ideas quickly.

It's called Planeffi (planeffi.com), for planning and efficiency. I recommend using the current beta (cool.planeffi.com) version that will soon become the official one.

I hope it can be as useful to other people as it has been for me so far for more than a year and a half!

I have registered but credentials process is spooky. I did this from my iPhone. Maybe it needs doing from a desktop?
